粗纱、细纱工序胶辊的磨砺周期，主要是根据粗纱、细纱胶辊的硬度、使用时间和产量而确定，不同硬度的胶辊磨砺周期不同，使用年限不同而硬度相同的胶辊磨砺周期也不同（见下表）。
另外，胶辊铁芯间隙问题，可以把间隙稍大的调到后区，若是前胶辊轴承间的间隙过大时，对条干CV值的影响为0.1%～0.6%之间；若是后胶辊或中胶辊轴承间的间隙过大时，对条干CV值的影响在0.01%～0.1%之间。所以，胶辊轴承间隙较大时，一般用于后胶辊。因为后胶辊运转速度低，影响小，对纺纱质量影响也特别小。
